Submission Instructions

The Tulane Journal of International & Comparative Law has opened its submission window for Volume 34, Issue 1 which will be published Winter 2025-26. Submissions for Volume 34, Issue 2 will open December 1st, 2025 to be published Spring 2026.

The Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law publishes works by leading academics, practitioners, and judges from around the world on a wide variety of topics of international and comparative law. In order to promote a diverse range of topics, ideas, and opinions, the Journal imposes few restrictions on the submissions, asking only that when considering length, potential authors submit 25,000 words or fewer.

The Journal welcomes scholarly articles from legal academics and professionals alike. We publish bianually and take into consideration the following criteria when evaluating article submissions.

Each article should be submitted in Times New Roman, 12 point font, with one-inch margins. The Journal has a preference for articles of fewer than 25,000 words (or roughly 50 law review pages), including footnotes. Longer articles may be published in noteworthy circumstances. The submissions should be in Bluebook format, 21st edition, with substantial support and analysis. We prefer articles that are primarily legal in scope, but we also accept multi-disciplinary articles.

Unfortunately, we do not accept student pieces. Preference will be given to articles written in English, although submissions in other languages are accepted. In addition to submitting articles, we ask that authors also submit their résumés.

Please submit all articles to jicl@tulane.com or Scholastica.

License Agreement

As a condition of acceptance, authors of all articles offered publication will be subject to the Journal’s license agreement.
